Reus cloud transcription is unlimited under fair use. On Max, Claude Opus 4.8 "best notes" is included up to a monthly fair-use limit; after that, notes keep flowing on Claude Sonnet 4.6. Market figures from public pricing pages, June 2026 — check current terms. "Unlimited" means in their cloud.
- Does a bot join my meetings?
- No. Reus records from your side — microphone plus system audio. Nobody sees a "Reus notetaker" participant.
- Where does my audio go?
- Nowhere. Recording and Whisper transcription run on your machine. Audio only leaves if you explicitly choose cloud transcription.
- Do I need API keys?
- Only on the free plan, and even there the Claude CLI works with your existing Claude subscription instead. Paid plans need nothing — we run the APIs.
- Which models can I use?
- Claude (we default to Opus 4.8), any OpenAI-compatible endpoint — Groq, Ollama, your own server — or the Claude Code CLI.
