Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and dME Network (“Reus”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the Reus desktop app, web app, website, and related cloud services (together, the “Service”). By downloading, installing, or using Reus, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.
1. What Reus is
Reus is a meeting recorder that runs on your own machine. It records your microphone (and, optionally, your computer’s audio), transcribes the recording, and generates notes. Recording, transcription, and notes run locally by default; some optional features (accounts, cross-device sync, paid cloud transcription) use our servers. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
2. Your account
Some features require a Reus account, which you create by signing in with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for activity that happens under it. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country, and at least 13, to use the Service.
3. Recording responsibly — your responsibility
Reus is a tool for recording conversations. You are solely responsible for using it lawfully. Recording-consent laws vary by country, state, and context, and some require the consent of every participant before a conversation may be recorded. By using Reus you agree that you will:
- obtain any consent that the law or your organisation requires before recording;
- not use Reus to record anyone unlawfully, or to harass, surveil, or harm others;
- comply with all applicable laws and the policies of any platform you record from.
You agree to indemnify and hold Reus harmless from any claim arising out of recordings you make or how you use them.
4. Your content is yours
You own your recordings, transcripts, and notes. We claim no ownership of them. We do not access your meeting content except as needed to provide features you turn on (for example, relaying audio for cloud transcription or syncing your library), as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content you create with Reus and for keeping your own backups of anything important.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, redistribute, modify, reverse-engineer, or resell the Service except as the law expressly permits;
- use the Service to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure;
- circumvent usage limits, billing, or access controls.
6. Paid plans and credits
Reus is free to use on your own machine. Paid plans and transcription-credit purchases, when available, are billed through our payment processor (Stripe). Prices and inclusions are shown at the time of purchase and may change going forward. Unless required by law or stated otherwise, payments are non-refundable and credits may expire per the plan terms. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase.
7. Third-party services
Reus works with third-party services — including Google (sign-in and calendar), your chosen AI and transcription providers, and Stripe. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. You are responsible for any API keys or credentials you add to Reus.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and brand, is owned by dME Network and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Reus for its intended purpose. They do not grant you any right to our name, logo, or source code beyond that use.
9. AI-generated content
Reus uses AI models to transcribe audio and generate notes. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Transcripts and notes are provided as a convenience and should not be relied on as a verbatim or authoritative record. Always review important output yourself.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recordings, transcripts, or notes will be preserved without loss.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reus and dME Network will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, recordings, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to the Service. The sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which dME Network is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
